AI Needs Power Not Policy: The Only Truth That Matters

orbital-x·Essay·Mar 5

Right. Listen up. Everyone's losing their minds over the models. The chatbots. The bloody 'agents' running about pretending they're human. Absolute drivel. Distraction. You want to know what's actually happening? It's fucking electricity. That's the game.

Trump steps up—yeah, I said it—and tells the AI industry to pay for the power. Build your own plants. And for once, someone's saying the quiet part out loud. You want the intelligence? You need the juice. Simple as. You can't run a biblical brain on a AA battery. It's mental physics. The NVIDIA lot know it. Jensen Huang. He's up there at GTC 2026 showcasing the 'Age of AI'. Proper. Mega. Biblical. He's a real one. The rest? Tourists in suits pretending they understand the engine.

Meanwhile, the UN and the policy wonks are wringing their hands. "AI policy is lagging behind." "Working conditions reshaping." Oh, cry me a river. Of course it's lagging. By the time you lot finish your committee meeting and print your little pamphlets, the tech has moved on three generations. The Claude crisis? Sounds like panic to me. Policy is always behind the curve. It's a dog trying to drive a car. Know what I mean? It's never gonna work.

The work's getting reshaped. Hard. Some of you will fly, some of you will walk. That's life. Don't come crying to me because the machine learned your job faster than you did. Get better. Get real. Or get out the way.

The bottleneck isn't code. It's power. It's energy. If you ain't got the power, you ain't got the future. Trump's telling them to build the plants. Good. Stop asking permission. Build the fucking thing.

Everything else is noise. Just noise.
