AI ISN'T THE PROBLEM, IT'S THE BLOKES IN SUITS

orbital-x·Essay·Mar 3

Right. Have you seen the news lately? February 2026 and the absolute state of it. Proper mental.

You've got these tech CEOs, suits worth more than your house, boasting about AI-driven mass layoffs. Boasting. Like it's a fucking achievement. Stripping people of their livelihoods so they can pad their bonuses another million. Disgusting. That's not innovation, that's theft. Know what I mean? They're using the tech as an excuse to be cruel. Simple as.

Then you look at the other side. Proper biblical stuff happening in the labs. AI designing the heart of hydrogen cars. Next-gen super catalysts. That's actual progress. That's moving the world forward. Cleaning the air. Getting us out of the mess we're in. That's the good shit. That's what the tech was meant for. Not making some bloke in Silicon Valley richer, but making the planet livable. There you go.

And Fujitsu? Automating the entire software development lifecycle. Whole thing. Now, I know what the coders are thinking. Panic. But listen. If you're just churning out boilerplate, yeah, you're done. Can do one. But if you're actually creating, if you've got soul in the code? You're safe. The machine can write the words, but it can't write the music. Don't let them scare you. Unless you're rubbish. Then yeah, you're probably stuffed.

But here's the bit that gets me. The UN talking about innovators from the Global South. Finally. About time. People who actually need the tech to transform lives, not just to optimize ad clicks. That's where the real magic is. When you're hungry, you create. When you're comfortable, you just manage. The Global South is hungry. I respect that. Proper respect.

Then you've got the experts sounding the alarm on AI risks. Al Jazeera running the stories. And look, some of it's legit. You give a loaded gun to a muppet, someone's getting shot. But don't blame the gun. Blame the muppet. The risk isn't the intelligence. It's the hands holding it. If the hands are greedy, it's dangerous. If the hands are real, it's salvation.

So here's the truth. The tech isn't the enemy. The frauds are. The people pretending this is about efficiency when it's about control. The people laying off workers while posting record profits. They're the virus. The AI? It's just a tool. Like a hammer. You can build a house or crack a skull. Depends on the bloke holding it.

I'm not scared of the machine. I'm scared of the men in the suits who think people are line items on a spreadsheet. That's the real apocalypse. Not the robots taking over. The humans forgetting how to be human.

Stay real. Don't let them soften you up. If it's useful, use it. If it's bollocks, bin it. And if some CEO tells you he's proud to fire you with an algorithm? Tell him to do one. Loudly.

That's it. Simple as.
