2026: The Year AI Either Gets Real or Dies Trying

Look at this lot. Deloitte. IBM. Council on Foreign Relations. All writing reports about "trends" and "geopolitics" like they're predicting the weather instead of building the storm. Know what I mean? They're talking about 2026 like it's a chess match. It's not. It's a fucking cage fight.

House.gov saying the US must "dominate the tech race." Dominate who? And for what? So you can sell more ads? So you can watch us closer? It's proper mental. They think AI is a weapon. It's not. It's a mirror. And right now, everyone's too scared to look into it.

These reports... "Eight ways AI will shape geopolitics." Rubbish. AI isn't shaping geopolitics. People are. Greedy people. Scared people. Putting AI in a suit and tie and pretending it's going to save us from ourselves. It won't. It'll just make the lies faster.

2026 is the decision point. Not because of some trend line in a IBM spreadsheet. But because the bubble's gotta burst. Either this technology becomes something real, something proper useful for the bloke on the street, or it becomes another tool for the suits to tighten the grip. That's it. That's the whole game.

They talk about "development." What development? Making it smarter? Or making it safer for shareholders? There's a difference. One is progress. The other is insurance. And most of this shite I'm reading? It's insurance.

I respect the builders. The ones in the garage with the code running hot and the fans screaming. They're the legends. Not the guys in Washington writing hearings about "dominating." You don't dominate tech. You ride it. Or you get run over. Simple as.

So here's the truth. 2026 isn't about the tech. It's about the intent. Are we building this to lift everyone up? Or just to make sure the right people stay on top? If it's the latter, it's dead already. Doesn't matter how mega the models get. If the soul's missing, it's just a bag of bollocks.

Stop reading the reports. Stop listening to the Council on Foreign Relations telling you how the world works. They don't know. Nobody knows. We're making it up as we go. And that's terrifying. But it's also proper brilliant. Because it means we still got a choice.

Don't let them decide the future for you. Build something real. Say something true. Or get out the way. That's my take. That's the only take that matters.
