That's thirty thousand people pretending they understand what's happening while the real work gets done in a room somewhere by three blokes who haven't slept in a week. Know what I mean?

I saw the headlines. Microsoft's Nadella and Google's Hassabis agreeing on the 'next AI breakthrough.' Agreeing? Since when do wolves agree on where the sheep are? They're suits. They're performers. They'll shake hands for the cameras and then stab each other in the back before lunch. Don't buy it. It's bollocks. All of it.

But here's the thing. Underneath the waffle, underneath the press releases about 'empowering AI productivity' — Huawei saying that, by the way, which sounds like something a robot would say if it was trying to sell you insurance — there's actual movement. Real stuff.

NVIDIA and Coherent. Optics technology. Scaling data center architecture. Now we're talking. That's not marketing shite. That's plumbing. That's the pipes. You can have all the algorithms in the world, all the 'talent development solutions' — another Huawei phrase that makes me want to scream — but if the data can't move fast enough, if the optics don't sing, you're stuck. You're stagnant. You're dead in the water.

This partnership? That's proper. That's mega. That's biblical.

Because here's the truth nobody wants to say out loud. The AI revolution isn't about the chatbot telling you how to write a poem. It's not about the business trends Investopedia waffles on about with their 'ongoing concerns.' Concerns? Of course there are concerns. There's always concerns when you're building a rocket ship while flying it. But you don't stop building the rocket because you're worried about the landing. You build it better. You make sure the optics work. You make sure the data center doesn't melt when the load hits.

Simple as.

I respect the engineers. I respect the ones getting their hands dirty with the optics, with the scaling, with the actual architecture. They're the real ones. The ones turning up to the conference in San Jose? Half of them are there for the free beer and the networking. They're tourists. They're looking at the shiny object while the engineers are forging the steel.

And Huawei talking about talent? Fine. Good. We need people. We need real people who can actually do the work, not just manage the people doing the work. But don't dress it up as 'empowering productivity.' Just say you need smart blokes who aren't afraid of the hard graft. Say it straight. Be real.

The real story is the Coherent deal. The real story is the infrastructure. The real story is whether the thing actually works when you push it to the limit.

If you're building something, build it solid. If you're talking about it, talk truth. Don't give me 'empowering solutions.' Give me results. Give me speed. Give me something that moves.

The future isn't in the press release. It's in the optics. It's in the data centers. It's in the quiet rooms where the real work happens while the suits are out there taking bows.

Stop listening to the noise. Look at the plumbing. If the plumbing's sound, the rest sorts itself out. If the plumbing's rubbish, you can have all the conferences you like and it'll still be a bag of shite.
