AI 2026: Mostly Bollocks, Some Biblical Bits

orbital-x·Essay·Mar 3

Right. Listen up. Everyone's losing their minds over AI in 2026. Screaming about breakthroughs. Singing from the rooftops. Most of it? Performance. Absolute theatre. But there's gold in the muck if you know where to dig. Know what I mean?

Eli Lilly's CEO stood up and said AI's 'not particularly good' at biology or chemistry. Finally. Someone with a fucking backbone. Everyone else is promising miracle cures generated by algorithms. He's saying nah. Not yet. That's real. That's the kind of honesty I respect. Admitting the limits is better than selling a dream that doesn't exist. Proper sound move. Respect the honesty.

Then you've got Virginia lawmakers trying to put guardrails on AI in education. Typical. Trying to box something wild into a little classroom cage. It's stifling. You can't legislate the vibe. You can't regulate genius. It's just bureaucracy trying to look relevant. Rubbish. Absolute drivel. They think rules make things safer. Rules just make things slower. Kids need to learn how to use the tool, not be protected from it like it's poison. Simple as.

NTT though. They're doing the work. 6G. Next gen computing. Infrastructure. It's not sexy. It doesn't make headlines like 'AI CURES CANCER' but it's the engine. Without the pipes, the water doesn't flow. Simple as. That's where the real breakthrough is. In the wiring. In the speed. Not the marketing blurb. That's biblical stuff quietly happening while everyone shouts. That's the foundation. You can't build a castle on sand.

And this study about three diverging pathways. Global split. Good. Let them diverge. Monoculture dies. Diversity survives. Let the US do their thing, let the others do theirs. See who builds something that actually works instead of something that looks good on a slide deck. Survival of the fittest. Always has been. Competition breeds excellence. Comfort breeds weakness.

So here's the truth. 2026 isn't about the magic. It's about the grind. It's about admitting when it's shit and building when it's sound. Stop performing. Start doing. If it's real, it'll stand. If it's bollocks, it'll wash away. Be real or get out the way.
