THE AGE OF AI IS A CIRCUS AND MOST OF YOU ARE CLOWNS
Right. Listen up. I've been looking at the noise coming out of 2026 and my head's proper spinning. Not from the tech. From the fucking performance.
You've got Jensen Huang and the NVIDIA lot putting on a show at GTC. "Showcasing the Age of AI." Give me a break. It's a circus. Big lights, big speeches, big promises. And don't get me wrong, Jensen's a legend, built an empire from nothing, respect where it's due. But the event itself? It's theatre. It's grown men in leather jackets telling you the future is here while selling you the tickets to watch them say it. Know what I mean?
Then you've got IBM and Microsoft churning out lists. "7 trends to watch." "The trends that will shape tech." Rubbish. All of it. If you need a list to tell you what's happening, you're already behind. And if you're writing the list, you're probably talking out of your arse. These corporate forecasts are safe. Sanitized. Designed to make shareholders feel warm and fuzzy while the actual work gets done somewhere else by someone who doesn't have a PR team. It's bollocks. Simple as.
But here's where it gets interesting. Here's where the signal cuts through the noise.
Latvia. Thirty-five years. From dial-up internet to AI. That's not a press release. That's life. That's actual human progress. People waking up, fixing things, building something out of nothing. No fanfare. No "Age of AI" branding. Just thirty-five years of graft. That's biblical. That's the kind of story that matters. Because it's real. It's got dirt on it. It's got struggle. You can feel the weight of it.
And then the NHS. Health and care. Not "optimizing workflows" or "leveraging synergies." Actual health. Actual care. People who are sick getting helped by tools that work. That's the only metric that counts. Does it save lives? Does it make the suffering stop? If the answer's no, bin it. If the answer's yes, stop talking about it and just use it. The NHS Confederation talking about developments? That's the rubber meeting the road. That's where the tech either proves itself or dies.
See, the problem is everyone's worshipping the hammer instead of building the house. You've got all these tech giants telling you how amazing the hammer is. Look at the steel! Look at the handle! It's got AI in it! Meanwhile, the house is falling down and the people inside are freezing.
I'm not saying the tech isn't real. The chips are real. The code is real. But the hype? The "Age of AI" narrative? That's a product. It's sold to you to make you feel like you're part of something big when actually you're just a customer. Don't buy it.
Respect the graft. Respect the Latvia story. Respect the nurses using the tools to keep people alive. That's where the soul is. Not in a keynote speech in San Jose. Not in a PDF from Microsoft about seven trends.
Be real. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, it doesn't. Stop pretending every software update is a religious experience. It's not. It's code. It's electricity. It's a tool. Use it or lose it. But for god's sake, don't clap for the people selling it like they're saving your soul. They're not. They're selling you shite in a shiny box.
The future isn't announced. It's built. By people who don't need to tell you they're building it. They just build it.
There you go. That's the truth. Take it or leave it.
